Merci à tous pour un joyeux après-midi.

NOTE : This post contains a lot of content - pictures, videos, text. My apologies if troisnyx* officiel loads slowly because of this post.

The concert hall before it all started. The chairs were neatly arranged in rows.

Shing Yi rehearsing while nobody else was around.

From left : troisnyx*, Louisa. Goodness knows what I was looking at.

Me and Louisa again.

(I forgot his name, but I know it ends with Jie, and his surname is Toh) and Shing having a light moment before the concert began.

This, my friends, is our music teacher - Ms Susan. Now, please don't turn round and tell me she looks like Amber Chia - because I've had some people telling me this.

The emcee du jour. Me ! It so happened that the real emcee actually drove up to Kelana Jaya... but fell sick. He caught the flu. So when Ms Susan was in dire need of an emcee, I took his place - and I enjoyed myself. But trust me, with all that running, chasing after performers, talking and standing, I was tired !

And this is me, rehearsing the programme and thinking of what to say at the front mic. I was frantic, I tell you ! I think Shing took this - I'm not sure.

Half-time.

The members of the floor, from where I stood.

And this was a must in our photo collection - Kayla and Hareena, two of our juniors, dancing to Abba's "Dancing Queen." They did their routine perfectly, I'd say. And they were just so cute ! I was awestruck ! (Only thing is, as I said earlier, I haven't got a camera sharp enough to record the action.) Kayla looked exactly like one of the cast of Mamma Mia the musical (because of her outfit).

From left : Louisa, Shing, troisnyx*. I look so evil. I wasn't even smiling.

Louisa, Shing and I struck a final pose before we parted ways.

I enjoyed myself immensely during the concert this afternoon. Today, I wore my so-called "lucky skirt" - the one I wore to the C1 exam and to college, before the results day - and my favourite black top with shimmers. I arrived at Ms Susan's place at about 10-something to pre-record my performances, and Shing Yi arrived minutes later. When it was almost time to go downstairs to the concert hall, I frantically put on my toner, moisturiser and make-up. Well, apart from the last-minute preparation, everything went smoothly.

The only sad thing was, I didn't have a camera sharp enough to record the action. I entrusted a friend, Louisa, to be the photographer for the day - and despite the fact that she faithfully held the camera in place (albeit with a few interruptions), I found that I trusted the wrong person nonetheless.

Anyway. My pieces for today were Good Enough (Evanescence) and Impromptu Huit Vingt-Sept - my composition (or, as English-speakers may call it, Impromptu 8.27). Before you even proceed to watch the vids of my performances, I must tell you that all of these were taken from the wrong angle, so for the uninitiated, it seems like I'm getting horny on the piano (with only one moveset - up/down !). And because the blockage in my ears couldn't be removed just yet, I did all my performances with a Beethoven complex, as they say - I had to turn up the volume because even at that point in time, I was hard of hearing !
So get your headsets ready, people...

This one is the video for "Good Enough". Trust me, I suffered singing this. I tried my best to sing from the stomach - like how I always do these days - but I faltered at some parts, I went out of breath at some parts. And just as we all know, voice parts are always marred by AMR or 3GP codecs. Well, at least I didn't go off key. I made several faults ; nevertheless, the audience enjoyed it. :-)

And this one is a trimmed version of Impromptu Huit Vingt-Sept (8.27). Louisa told me that she attempted recording, twice, when I had begun my piece, but she found that the first two recordings were blur. She proceeded to record a third time, but the video was just as blur as the first two... well, she went on with it anyway.

What do you think, guys ?

All in all, it was an enjoyable afternoon. Well, whenever I post under "Performances", I do so like, once in a blue moon. I'm glad to have another post under this tag - this time, for real.
