They call it a Good Friday, but it definitely isn't a happy occasion

2009/04/10
It’s almost 3, and it’s cloudy. Now, whoever says Good Friday should be preceded by the word "happy" needs a kick in his behind.

On Good Friday, we commemorate the death of Christ Jesus. Scripture says that he gave up the spirit “at the ninth hour” – at 3:00 p.m.

Today, I reflect upon the solemn words of Pilate during his confrontation with Jesus : “Truth ? What is that?” Christ died for the truth. Many films have depicted His scourging, his condemnation, his journey towards Calvary... and in all those scenes, it's a mess of blood. Christ went through that mess of blood, for you and me. For the truth.
Are we leading truthful lives ?

Truth be told, I’ve deviated many times.

Today, I renew my commitment, take up my cross, and follow His way.

Au nom du Père, et du Fils, et du Saint-Esprit. Amen.
