Change, of the refreshing kind

2010/06/12
My YouTube channel now sports the exact same colour scheme as OH TEH NOES !, except that the background and title are different.

"Made With Love" is the title of my channel from now on. The colour scheme was suggested by several members of the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, who visualised love as a mixture of red, pink and white hues. For lack of any other image to put in, I thought I'd just draw myself singing in my covers.... singing with love.
The title came from this sentence : Let everything you do be done in love.

Yes, everything, including my covers, my works, whatever it may be - I want it all to be done in the love of the Lord. I'm aware it's difficult, and I'm aware of the sinfulness of people around me, even the church, but love doesn't abandon something or someone like hot bricks. Love is faithful, and love never ends. So the title's sort of a reminder that I shouldn't give up hope, that I should continue having faith, no matter what I do.

So these are the works I did in the entire Made With Love range :

The original background image, which will be used in all my subsequent covers unless there is some sort of special event.

How the logo was first designed. It was simple text with contours/outlines, done on PowerPoint. Top font is Arial Rounded MT Bold ; bottom font is aaaaight ! fat. The drips and glow were added later...

The image of me singing, supposedly. The background is supposed to be transparent ; it turned out pink here... -___-

The background I used on YouTube. Note the grain on the image. I saved this in GIF because a PNG image would be too bulky to upload as a background on YouTube. Also, I somehow took a liking to the GIF grain.

Wait, there's more !

The unfinished prototype image. Note the grooves on the shirt and the belt : I filled these bits in with coloured pens before scanning the image, and then I coloured underneath the pen markings.

Yes, I'm now aware that this post is now chock-filled with images, but I have just one more thing to share with you before I hit the Publish Post button.

Here's the first cover ever to use the Made With Love image :

It's Galaxy from the children's TV series Lazy Town. Now, you might be wondering why I didn't use a Lazy Town image. Well, I didn't want to bore all my friends and subscribers... and readers to death with tens of thousands of Lazy Town images, and by the way, I prefer Kingdom Hearts anyday. So I decided to use the Made With Love image from this one onwards.

All voices are phone-recorded and edited on WavePad and Audacity.

Phew. That should be enough content for one day.

... Hahahaha. That's a morbid image. The church is the body of Christ. If that's the case, if it were to be manifested as a human body, I'm not sure I'd even want to look at it, let alone touch it. :P Sad. It does cause me to appreciate the places in Scripture where the Lord laid His hands on lepers. Who does that?

bottom font is aaaaight ! fat

aaaaight ! fat is a font? Hahahaha.

Ooh. You use Audacity, too? You're all kinds of open source savvy, aren't you? :D

Cute picture. Very sparkly. :)

I know... I mean, I was thinking about this just last night, before going to bed. And I was tempted to despair, but I kept on telling myself I shouldn't. It's in times like these when my faith is stretched, but it's yet to be stretched even further, n'est-ce pas ?

And yes, aaaaight ! fat is a font. See DaFont.com. :P

And about the pic, thanks ! Whatever software I can afford to buy, I'll buy it. Or else, I go open source. GIMP, Audacity, WavePad (basic). These three are open source. And for my picture slideshows, there's Photo Story 3 for Windows. That's also free, I guess. I can't make that many special effects, but still... ^_^'

Luke 17:5-6 AMP

The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith (that trust and confidence that spring from our belief in God). And the Lord answered, If you had faith (trust and confidence in God) even [so small] like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you.

:) It always amazes me when people talk about faith. The Lord says, "If you have any faith at all, you can." I also know elsewhere in Scripture where it says, "and if I have faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love I am nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2)" --and that's where I've often failed. But never in faith. But the Lord has made us all a little different. :) And we certainly all need His grace.

Indeed, we definitely do.
I bet at any point in time we'd be fighting our own "versions" of Goliath, so to speak. The Goliath standing in front of me is a combination of anger, issues of faith, and I don't know what else.

What's yours ? (Or what was yours ?)

Lack of love. Self righteousness. Criticism.

Often the Lord gives me piecing discernment, and instead of bringing it to Him and interceding for those souls, forming His mind, I jab them coldly. And for what? It's a dangerous thing thinking oneself a superior person. I have never followed after the pride of Satan and considered myself higher than the Almighty, but I've often considered myself higher than my brothers and sisters. Maybe not openly, but in heart. I was a terribly selfish person when I was 16-17. By the grace of God, I have made the effort to humble myself and form a tender heart. I try to keep it in mind that there is not one sinner nearly as awful as I can be if not for the grace of God.
