It's great to be back.

2009/02/14
My music teacher, Ms Susan Yap, is having another concert this year, just like she did in February last year. It's in the same huge hall as last year, and wow, that's probably the best concert hall Kelana Jaya can ever have. And I've been called ! Imagine, two years on, after DipABRSM, I've been called again.

I'm happy to come back. It's great to be back.

There're no formalities this time. Only that… I haven’t come up with an item for my performance. I wanted to try Yoko Shimomura’s “The Other Promise” as I could pre-record the other tracks, but the piano part proved to be too difficult for me to master within one week. This is sad, really, because “The Other Promise” is a beautiful track, and I let Nithya and Kimberly listen to it in the computer lab yesterday evening. I have another option, but it’s a French number – Mylène Farmer’s “Rêver”. I’m frantically trying to get my number registered so that I can call Shing Yi and ask for ideas for an English or Malay number, because it just isn’t advisable to perform things that people may not understand.

Or should I call Ms Susan and ask her ?

I’ve also got to ask her whether there are going to be group items. If so, then I’ll pre-record and play for the entire lot of us.

(Darn, there hasn’t been a performance in one whole year, can you beat that ? The last post I wrote under “Performances” was somewhere around last year. That’s how pathetic I am. Not a single talent scout has searched for me. Some of my friends are so lucky that they now have the time of their lives living their dreams. If only by chance, a talent scout were to stop by the hall next Sunday……… and hear me.)
