I won't be writing much here because I'm thinking of making the most of the few days that I'm spending at my family's place in Essex, but this is pretty much what happened :
We left KLIA at 19:30 (UTC+8)... We boarded Emirates.
The first flight took six hours.
In-flight, I watched the VF of Aladdin.
Stuffed myself to glory, prayed and slept whenever I could.
Arrived at Dubai International Airport at 10:00 (UTC+4).
Got stuck there for five long hours.
Dad and Rin went to walk around and check the place. My back was already aching from lugging my heavy knapsack, and on top of that, I needed to just sit and access the Internet for once. So during the two hours I was on, I accessed the Net via a weak connection, posted a few tweets and spoke to KHFR friends Unbirth and Thomas.
Turned off the PC when there was only 30% battery life left.
Boarded the flight to London at 2-something in the morning, UTC+4.
Spent seven hours in this flight. Stuffed myself to glory, prayed and slept whenever I could. These seven hours were particularly excruciating as my back ached, my feet ached and I went to the loo frequently. Worse, I was wearing the same clothes and whatnot for more than 24 hours, and I couldn't bear it anymore. I was just waiting for the time we'd land.
Also watched The Jungle Book in VF, and I must say that this is one of the few Disney films where I prefer the English voices.
Landed at Gatwick Airport at 7:20 GMT.
Was greeted by Aunty Vero and Uncle Paul at the arrival hall.
Took a 2-hour drive from Gatwick to the family home in Essex. Passed by the rolling countryside, went under the Thames (or at least, that's what I heard !) before ultimately reaching our county.
Come this 20th, I will be in my campus in Hertfordshire. Apparently they checked out the campus and said that we're well provided for. I certainly do hope so !
