Open Mic III

2010/12/05

My third Open Mic session in my entire academic year was in the EleHouse as usual. The EleHouse has already organised four or five Open Mic sessions, though I stayed away from the EleHouse for a while due to pressing concerns.

The e-mail they sent me read "Try Christmas carols. The best carol for ten years straight is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". I was like, that's it. This is changing. I'm gonna make the top carol "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." And it was with this resolve that I went. It's a good thing that for the entire Open Mic, that carol wasn't sung.... ^_^ I was the first to sing for the night after The Stakeouts had performed six items. There were very few participants that day, and by the time The Stakeouts had finished, the EleHouse was PACKED ! Mike sure knew how to cue me in..... >_>

So I sang, in this order :

Close To You - The Carpenters
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Somewhere Out There - Troisnyx
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

What especially made me happy about this one was the applause at the end of it all. The applause. THE APPLAUSE ! :D

Special thanks to Kevin for filming the footage for my recording, to Peter, Lauren, Bre, Amy, The Stakeouts and the rest who enjoyed my performance, and to Mike for letting me in. And I hope that you, the reader, enjoy my performance too.

This is what happened before it all began :

Author's note : This post shall be updated soon, as there are four videos in total and only three have been uploaded.

I easily favor "Somewhere Out There" of the four. 'Course, I prefer the version without all the hubbub in the recording. :P Wow. Looks like I downloaded that on August 9th.

Wait, if you downloaded it then, wouldn't it have had static worthy of beating Demyx's sitar to death ?

Haha. Yeah, there was noise, but I find it easier to ignore that than human voices. :)
